Philosophizing on politics, society, economy and the Israel Defence Forces. This blog is a way for friends and family to keep track of me, and a way for me to record, even if with but surface detail, my experiences in Israel in general and the IDF in particular.
I am a Jew and proud of it, and I don't understand Jews who think national/religious identity is a thing of the past. It's the past, present and the future. Urbanite cosmopolitanism is a passing fad. I think the entertainment industry is full of vacuous mental midgets. I believe in capitalism, but that it must be regulated and taxed to allow the less capable a decent standard of living while preventing ostentatiousness in the upper crust. I currently serve in the IDF and this blog is a surface description of my experiences in the ongoing training.

Hey, I'm a brother-Mom was a Cohen, actually Zadeh was a Casden in Minsk, but on Ellis Island they changed it. He would not aliah to the bima when a Cohain was required in services. I write about my experiences in Israel (& Egypt) mentioning now deceast Zadeh. I'd appreciate a comment. Yeah, money... I feel you. My fiance' is buying a restuarant (Italian) & our wedding is going to make us start all over. We can do it though, man. ...good things I'm currently reading Gershom Gorenbergs The Accidental Empire & read his The Struggle for Temple Mount, message here--Fundamentalism BAD!!
